Knitting blankets for Operation Cover-up which provides blankets for orphans in Eastern Europe

Supporting Operation Christmas Child with shoe boxes of gifts for children in the Pacific

Holding mini-fairs in support of local charities such as the Hospice Trust
Supporting the APW Special Project

History

  • Jan 1907 - Services were opened at this promising sea-side resort on the second Sabbath of January by Tahunanui Presbyterian Church c.1955Rev. James MacKenzie.
  • October 1910 - The Deacon's court accepted a tender for the erection of a church building at Tahunanaui, the total cost being £212.5.0.
  • The second Sabbath of December 1910 - The Church by the sea was duly opened ... a congregation filling the building took part in the service.
  • 19th January 1913 - the first observance of Sacrament of the Supper, 32 participated.
  • 25th June 1961 - Sunday School rooms were dedicated and opened. Rules for Bible Class dances: Lights in the SS hall may be coloured but not 'extinguished'.
  • Jan 2007 We celebrated the centennial of the first service held in Tahunanui. People associated with the parish gathered from all over New Zealand and overseas to enjoy this celebration together.
